Smyrna High School Expansion

Due to the proliferation of the student population within the area served by The Smyrna School District, through a formal referendum process, the District determined that a major expansion was required that would nearly double the size of the existing school.

Clayton Intermediate School

The Smyrna School District, through a formal referendum process determined that the student population in the Town of Clayton exceeded the capacity of the current facilities and that a new Intermediate School should be constructed. This school would house the 5th and 6th grade students enrolled in the Clayton region of the District.

MOT Charter School

The original building was constructed in 2002 and consisted of 32 classrooms, multipurpose room and support spaces. Over the years, with increasing enrollment and expanded cafeteria operations to support the increased student population, the lack of a dedicated gymnasium space was obstructing the schools progressive curriculum. The need to construct a new gymnasium addition was essential.

Howard R. Young Correctional Inst.

The Howard R. Young Correctional Institution is one of three, Level 5 Correctional facilities within the State of Delaware. It houses over 1800 inmates and provides over 13,800,000 meals each year to the inmate population. The former kitchen had deteriorated due to heavy use, was inefficient in design and storage facilities were unable to support the ongoing food service program.
